I finally took the plunge !!

Lucy in the Sheffield brownie shop making brownies

After 6 months of moving the business online, working seven days a week with early starts and very late nights, as well as being a full time mum and part time math's teacher, I finally took the plunge and left my teaching job to concentrate on my business, and my boys ; )

Thank you so much for all your support, I love baking brownies and loved the feedback and reviews from customers I met during 3 years of selling my gorgeous chocolate brownies in Sheffield and South Yorkshire at local markets and food festivals and meeting lovely people face to face, but then along came Covid,

I had no choice, but to understand how I could run my business online. The idea that my customers could order brownies online was certainly new to me, I had to build a website and understand how an online shop worked, understand marketing (not from a stall) design packaging, work out the best and most reliable way to have my brownies delivered (Now that is a challenge).

I took the decision to move online, and also to increase my range of brownies and blondies, although I make the most amazing Lemon drizzle, Carrot cakes, Orange and Almond, Rocky Road, Millionaires shortbread, and other fresh cakes, I found these didn't travel well and put up with the rigors of delivery, so I had to stop baking the soft cakes and concentrate just on my gooey brownies, which have always been mine and my families favourites, although now the markets and food festivals are restarting, I think its time to dust off the icing sugar and for my soft cake range to make a revival, so watch this space for where you can try them, and I would really love to meet my customers again?

One of my biggest challenges, was to work out how to deliver brownies anywhere in the UK, using letterbox friendly brownie gift boxes, so they could be delivered quickly to the door, this was a challenge, and after much tweaking, I think I have got the letterbox gift boxes about right, but always looking for new ideas?
