A really early start this year to set the stall up ready for the two day Bakewell Christmas market which was held last weekend 20th & 21st November around the Market Place in the beautiful High Peak town of Bakewell.
We arrived just after 7am on a beautiful and crisp Saturday morning, everything was arranged perfectly by Sue, Pete and the staff responsible for setting up the market and so many stalls, it really was hectic with everyone setting up for the first day but really well organised.
This year for the first time we introduced our Triple chocolate brownie in a bottle which we shall be bringing to all our markets,
I have spent hours and hours perfecting the ingredients, and getting the amounts just right, everything is based on my chocolate brownie recipes , so I know the brownies are truly tried and tested. All you have to do is add butter and eggs and literally pour everything in together, all the ingredients, chocolates etc are all there, just follow the instructions on the card straight from the North Pole Bakery, or maybe not that far north, but my Sheffield brownies kitchen is in the North. Just give everything a good stir and pop it in the oven, then hide the bottle and recipe instruction card and sit back and claim the praise from the family for the best chocolate brownies.
This year by far the most popular brownie or actually blondie was the Bakewell blondie, which was my creation based on the Bakewell tart with white chocolate, almonds and raspberry jam. In total we took 14 different flavour brownies and blondies to the market and all sold out,
The four flavours of the Festive Christmas box made their first appearance at our brownies market stall and proved to be extremely popular, especially the Ginger Bread man sat on top of the gingerbread blondie, the children loved him
The festive brownies box of four brownies and blondies popular at Christmas, consists of a Christmas brownies classic, the Terry's chocolate orange and three other festive flavours of Ferrero Rocher, Toblerone and the really popular Gingerbread man blondie, all were so very well received and I had great feedback about them. Christmas at Bakewell didn't end on Sunday as we are back this Sunday 28th November for the brand new Bakewell market of the Christmas Sparkle which is a unique market in that it is based upon local businesses and will be held at the Bakewell market site in the Bakewell Agricultural Centre and this really is a family affair with something for all the family including Santa and a real reindeer
FREE FAMILY CHRISTMAS EVENT - INDOORS AND OUTDOORS
Our first Bakewell Christmas Sparkle event will take place on Sunday 28th November 2021 from 10am to 4pm at Bakewell Agricultural Business Centre (ABC).
Dogs: dogs are welcome at the event on a short lead.
Parking: there is plenty of parking available in paid car parks around Bakewell, including on Bakewell Showground where the ABC is located (DE45 1AH), and at neighbouring Smith's Island (DE45 1EZ).
FAMILY ACTIVITIES
🎅🏻 Father Christmas - from 11am
Thanks to Bakewell Rotary Club Santa will be joining us outside to wave hello from his sleigh and pose for photos, while keeping an eye on his reindeer. Donations for the Rotary Club's nominated charity are gratefully received.

🎨 Children's Christmas Crafts with StraightCurves
Chesterfield's StraightCurves will host special festive craft sessions. Children can make JumpingCLAY gingerbread men decorations (£5), polar bears (£2), 3D robins (£4), woolly baubles (£1) and festive badges (£1). No need to book.
🎄 Christmas Card Making
Children can make a Christmas card with BAHS at a cost of just £1 per child to cover materials. No need to book.
🖌 Face Painting
Kids (and big kids alike!) love getting their faces painted. Choose something festive or opt for your favourite animal or character (£3).

🎺 Bakewell Silver Band
12-1pm and 1:20-2:30pm
Bakewell Silver Band will be regaling visitors with Christmas carols and seasonal songs, raising money for their nominated local charity.
🎼 Peak Performance Choir
10:50am-12pm, 1-1:30pm and 2:30pm onwards
Enjoy festive choral performances at intervals throughout the day with Chesterfield's Peak Performance, who will also be raising money for charity.
🌿 Violets & Daisies
Demos throughout the day
As well as selling beautiful festive wreaths and hand-tied arrangements, Bakewell's Violets & Daisies will also be demonstrating how to make your own.
🍰 Just Roll With It
Demos throughout the day
Bolsover's Just Roll With It Cakes will be demonstrating cake decorating techniques and selling some of their handcrafted produce.
