The Cadbury Crunchie Brownie has been chosen by my amazing customers for this months pop up flavour!
I was so happy when my customers voted for the crunchie brownie, as I love it, I grew up on crunchies, there’s something so enjoyable about eating a crunchy piece of chocolate. So, for the month of June, the Chocolate Brownie meets the Cadbury crunchie for this scrumptious new addition.
The crunchie bar was invented in 1929 and is in many countries all over the world, including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the USA.
I have combined the Scrumptious by Lucy Chocolate brownie with chunky pieces of Cadbury’s crunchie. The honeycomb toffee pieces sit within the chocolate brownie so you can find delicious crunchy nuggets of crunchie throughout the rich fudgy gooey base. The brownie is then topped with more crunchie honeycomb pieces to give you a delicious chocolate honeycomb treat.
Many other companies just stick to there normal chocolate mix, bake it and then place a crunchie bar on top, but not me. It has taken me many years to perfect the scrumptious chocolate brownie and I am so happy with the end result.
I have recently spent many hours trying to get the new crunchie bake just right so the crunchie honeycomb pieces which sit within the mix don’t melt whilst inside the oven. This probably sounds a lot easier than it is as you only know how the bake has gone, once you take it out of the oven and let it cool down, I’ve said it before and I will say it again, baking is in art, ha ha.
However after many bakes I have perfected this, so every slice of chocolate brownie has the perfect mix of chocolate brownie and crunchie honeycomb. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
